Hatanpää Arboretum: Botanical Garden in Tampere, Finland

Hatanpaa Arboretum (Finnish: Hatanpää arboretum) is a botanical garden located 3 kilometers away from the centre of Tampere, southern Finland.

Five interesting facts about the arboretum:

  • The construction of the garden started in 1971.
  • The planting started in 1973.
  • It contains more than 500 plant species.
  • The Latin and Finnish name of each plant is written on the label attached to the plant.
  • Most of the plants in the garden are indigenous to the Tampere area, but there are also more exotic and rare species.

  1. OMGoodness, I would be so thrilled there. Over 500 different kinds of plants would take me days to look at and write down the names of the ones I found most beautiful.
