Day trip to Nerja, Spain

Costa del Sol
Nerja, Spain

Nerja is a seaside resort in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain, located on the country's southern Mediterranean coast, about 50 km east of Málaga.

The town has a mild climate all year round. There are 10 beaches in the town center and another 6 on the outskirts. Most of the beaches are sandy – coarse sand mixed with some smoother stones.

Undoubtedly the heart of Nerja and one of it's main symbols is the Balcony of Europe (Spanish: Balcón de Europa), a magnificent promenade, stretching along the edge of a towering cliff, which was once the location of a Moorish fortress.

The Eagle Aqueduct (Spanish: Acueducto del Águila), built between 1879 and 1880 in the Mudejar style, is truly a spectacular sight, and well worth stopping for a photo.
