Trams in Lisbon (Portugues: Bondes em Lisboa) are a public transport system in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, operated by Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa.

Five interesting facts about the trams in Lisbon:

  • In 1873, the first horsecar line was established in the city.
  • The first electric trams appear on the city's streets in 1901.
  • The city has 6 tram lines.
  • The most scenic line is the number 28, which crosses the historic Alfama district.
  • No other city in Europe employs such old trams as the Remodelano trams, which originally date from the 1930s.
